Description and Requirements

Location:  Must live within a commutable distance of the Oriskany NY office (Central NY) - Bloomfield CT - Tampa FL - or Aurora IL Office

 

Once a month in office for meetings 

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

 Coordinate analyzing claims overpayments and determine recovery strategies. 

• Prepare written notification and supporting documentation with dissemination of information regarding overpayment calculations including tax details when applicable.

• Contact claimants and handle recovery arrangements for overpayment. 

• Handle inquires and responses from internal and external callers.

• Maintain and reconcile outstanding overpayment balances, past-due overpayments and uncollectible overpayments.

• Prepare and provide write-off documents that are deemed uncollectible, or collections efforts are exhausted for write off approval.

• Conduct Special Projects as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• High level of mathematical aptitude required.

• Intermediate or higher level of Excel experience required. In addition to being able to work within multiple systems to complete day to day workload.

• Ability to abide by MetLife's policies.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients and customers.

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

·       1-3 years Customer Service experience including outbound phone work experience.

·       High School Diploma Required.

 

Preferred:

·       1-3 years of Claims experience.

·       Negotiation skills.

·       Experience with ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974) and Disability Plan and Policy Language.

  • Financial BG experience 
  • Intermediates excel knowledge (formulas and formatting).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Analytical thinking required.
  •  Letter writing skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused in high paced environment.
  • Ability to function in a matrix environment.
The expected salary range for this position is $41,600. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
