Job Location: Virtual within commutable distance to Oriskany NY, Southfield MI, Cary NC, and Aurora IL offices


Role Value Proposition 

A Group Insurance Administrator delivers high quality service to participants and institutional customers by providing administrative services relating to enrollments and portfolio maintenance for group term life recordkeeping.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and enters enrollment information into various systems, ensuring high accuracy. 
  • Handles benefit plan referrals from call center and units within the organization. 
  • Will act as a subject matter expert for different group customers. 
  • Will establish, maintain, and enhance favorable relationships with internal and external customers, plan participants, attorneys, etc. 
  • Maintains data in automated systems; troubleshoots and corrects problems. 
  • Helps conduct research on escalated cases. 
  • Facilitate department projects from start to finish; provides project timelines and reports. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Participate on customer calls/meetings to explain process/procedures and resolve issues. 
  • Expected to make recommendations to management to produce more effective, cost efficient means of accomplishing work, including workflow, form revision, and process changes.  
  • Must be willing to take on new tasks and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills are imperative. 
  • Ability to perform at a fast pace, while maintaining high quality and accuracy. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required. 


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

  • 1-3+ years of related experience
  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with good time management skills and to perform at a fast pace, while maintaining high quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Willingness to take on new tasks and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree

The expected salary range for this position is $46,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
