The Team You Will Join 

The National Accounts Sales Support team works directly with National Accounts Account Executives (AEs) who are responsible for selling and retaining group insurance products and services for the 5,000+ employee life market segment.  Primarily focused on pre & post-sale activities such as requests for proposals (RFPs), broker interactions, marketing presentations and sales tracking, the Sales Support team aids the AEs strategically by leveraging their skills and time.  With the AE, and by prioritizing and developing strategies and solutions to meet the needs of this market space, National Accounts will meet and exceed its growth targets and customer goals. 


The Opportunity

The Sales Support Consultant I is responsible for maintaining a strong knowledge of their assigned AEs book of business, prospects, broker relationships and internal processes.  In collaboration with the AE, this role contributes to RFP strategies, manages broker assignments and inquiries, supports marketing and finalist presentations, and helps execute participation strategies for MetLife products.


How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Manage all pre-sale activities including RFP and underwriting submissions, proposal creation, reference documentation, and finalist presentations
  • Deliver post-sale support including notice of sale, broker contracts, resolving commission issues, and renewals
  • Maintain AE account plans, opportunities, and activities in Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy for leadership reporting
  • Prepare for AE meetings by developing agendas, assembling presentations, and gathering collateral materials
  • Research prospects and broker data to support AE introductions and sales strategy
  • Maintain deep knowledge of assigned AE’s book of business to represent them effectively with brokers and internal partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement sales growth and employee marketing communication strategies
  • Contribute to knowledge management by identifying process improvements and updating documentation
  • Build trusted relationships and collaborate across diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Lead or participate in special projects using project management tools and methodologies

 

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of Group Insurance or relevant experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and advanced Excel skills
  • Confident presentation skills and strong PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated and proactive in learning and development


 What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in insurance products, brokerages, or financial services
  • Familiarity with Salesforce platform


The expected salary range for this position is $60,900 - $81,200. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
