The Team You Will Join 

This position will involve the support of all Data Center components which will mainly consist of Network, Cabling Infrastructure and Server-related hardware. This position will also require the candidate to have in depth knowledge of cabling and standards for Data Center. The position will be expected to be onsite as this position is critical to ensure we have a quick turnaround when a component fails. This will also involve ensuring a close relationship with the Hosting team as well as the various Engineering teams within Met Life. We will also support and escort the various vendors when onsite and work closely with our onsite Cushman Team. There will be many opportunities to learn and have access to many training courses to enhance your career.

 
The Opportunity 

The DC Operation Team Lead is responsible for onsite support and overall responsible for ensuring all hardware within the Data Center bays are compliant with our Data Center standard. This position is critical to ensure stability within Met Life to support our internal teams as well as our various lines of businesses and our customer base. We operate a 24x7 environment supporting customers within the United States as well as many countries abroad. This is an exciting opportunity to join Met Life, which is a Fortune 50 company. You will have the opportunity to have access to the latest Network platforms such as VCF, Cisco, Firewalls, Rubrik Storage, IBM Mainframe, DASD, and various other platforms. You will be supporting these platforms and working closely with our Engineering teams by providing hand-on support. Will be opportunity to have access to many training classes to keep current on your skillset or enhance for future positions. 

Success in this role requires someone who is engaged and willing to lead and  support various team members and be a team player. This applicant is expected to work with others and actively participate with internal teams to share knowledge and enforce a Team atmosphere. The DC Operations Tech Lead is responsible for overseeing all IT platforms without the Data Center to ensure they are being managed proactively. You’ll collaborate closely with various MetLife Engineering teams, external vendors, and our Cushman & Wakefield onsite teams in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard and discussed.

 
 
 
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
  • Will be the onsite support lead for the shift being assigned to.
  • Expect the applicant to be self-motivated and willing to lead by example.
  • Applicants will proactively oversee all IT hardware and stability.
  • Applicants will manage the IT hardware for alarms and ensure all Power Distribution Units are supporting the IT hardware efficiently.
  • I would like the applicant to initiate new recommendations to ensure we operate efficiently and effectively as technology changes.
  • Applicants would be expected to participate in any IT related actively that would involve new hardware, replacing of End-of-Life platforms and assist other teams as needed. Should be able to work well with others and get involved. Will involve off hours rolling out large scale designs.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
  • The applicant would be expected to have knowledge in various IT platforms.
  • Having certification is a plus, however not required.
  • Having knowledge of TIA-942-C and ISO/IEC 11801.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years professional experience in IT.
  • Suggested 5 years of experience in a mid-to large IT shop.
  • Being able to work well with all teams and customers.

The expected salary range for this position is $68,300 to $91,100. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
