Role Value Proposition

This is a unique opportunity to work as a Contract Development Consultant at a Fortune 50 Company and one of the world’s leading life insurers and retirement solutions provider. In this dynamic role, you will develop and file essential forms, collaborate with state insurance departments, and support new product ventures.   Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare form filing submission documentation primarily related to life insurance policies (e.g. COLI/BOLI).
  • Prepare responses to insurance regulators’ questions and requests.
  • Negotiate form approvals with state insurance departments. 
  • Establish a good working relationship with insurance regulatory personnel to secure timely approval that addresses product and compliance needs.
  • Support regulatory filings, using primarily the SERFF electronic filing systems and recordkeeping requirements for the group.
  • Develop policy forms ranging from moderately complex product structures to complex and hybrid product structures to support new and existing products within RIS. Determine variations in forms to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the analysis of proposed and enacted laws and regulations to identify required compliance activities.
  • Provide technical support in analysis of new product ventures and due diligence.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to identify product specifications, contract and legal requirements, form filings and product use availability.
  • Research and respond to internal and external customer questions regarding contract features and compliance. 
  • Participate in special compliance, product development and team projects on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to learn Icertis Contracts Lifecycle Management software for developing new policy forms.
  • Ability and willingness to learn responsibilities other than those listed here and to assist with assignments for other team member business areas, when needed.


Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years relevant experience - or equivalent business experience (4+ years).
  • Competent level of contract knowledge and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including Teams and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills. Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong team player and collaborator. Ability to interact and work collaboratively and constructively with people at various levels within RIS and with regulators at state departments of insurance
  • Self-motivated, initiative-taking, flexible and enthusiastic. Impact-focused and deadline oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to engage constructively with associates of various disciplines and levels as well as with insurance department regulators.
  • Strong interest in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, including digital/automated business solutions, integrating technology and process improvements. 
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and procedures for the development and filing of compliant contract forms associated with group life and annuity business.

Preferred Experience 

  • Finance degree or JD a plus, but not essential.
  • 5-7 years of contract development, compliance, legal or relevant industry experience.
  • Group life insurance experience 
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Experience and competence with Copilot and/or other AI platforms.

The expected salary range for this position is $73,000 - $97,400. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
