The Team You Will Join 

The HR Supplier and Process Management (HR SPM) team is responsible for driving efficiency and accountability across key operational areas. The team’s remit includes oversight of global HR vendor management to ensure strong partnerships and value delivery, while establishing rigorous process documentation and enhancement to uphold compliance, consistency and excellence across the global HR function. With a focus on discipline and impact in the way HR works, the team has begun to enable HR initiatives to be executed with a new level of transparency, collaboration and engagement.

 

The Opportunity 

The HR Supplier and Process Management team is developing a strategy and practices to enable end-to-end HR process review, enhancement and reengineering globally. The HR Process Consultant is a newly created role that will focus on assessing, defining, documenting and enhancing how we deliver core HR processes, systems and capabilities for our employees, our teammates and the enterprise.  

This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine how we bring to life MetLife’s New Frontier strategy and shape a new body of work in a team focused on collaboration, innovation and delivering value.

Success in this role requires a focus on rigor, quality and efficiency in the way we work. The HR Process Consultant is responsible for the development and maintenance of the global HR process repository, and for supporting the varying levels of process reengineering  across the function.  The role will collaborate closely with HR Shared Services, Digital Strategy, the MetLife Business Process Reengineering team and HR COEs in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

The ideal candidate works independently and is analytical, collaborative, and experienced in process mapping and optimization, and cross-functional coordination.

 

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Support the successful execution of the HR Process Strategy by coordinating key initiatives and deliverables
  • Analyze and document existing HR processes and systems to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Create and implement an intake and documentation form or tool to standardize the data gathering phase of the strategy
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, validate process designs, and support change adoption
  • Develop baseline HR employee experience maps to scope the end-to-end processes
  • Manage and maintain process-related collateral, job aids and learning resources for HR teams
  • Coordinate comprehensive communication and roll out plans, ensuring alignment and managing sequencing plans across business, technology, operations and other stakeholders 

 

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • Consulting Skills: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, with the ability to translate business needs into optimal process solutions.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Lead with credibility in a complex, global, and highly matrixed environment to manage both internal and external stakeholders, secure alignment, and advance work by collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong understanding of HR processes and employee experience mapping, including best practices and current and emerging trends. 
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communications: Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build and maintain influential relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Agility: Experience delivering high-impact results in fast-paced, matrixed organizations with shifting priorities and complex internal/external stakeholder networks. 

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience with a background in human resources  
  • Experience with a background in operational excellence, Lean, business process reengineering and/or large-scale transformation 
  • Strong process acumen, with ability to ask critical questions 
  • Strong knowledge of process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience and skill in Microsoft SharePoint and Open Pages
  • Experience with HR systems and platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP SuccessFactors) is a plus

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Expertise in Open Pages or other process documentation tools
  • Certification in LEAN or Six Sigma
  • Demonstrable skill in leading Agile projects
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
