The Team You Will Join

The Opportunity

The Associate Director will provide independent analysis, oversight, and evaluation of MetLife’s US and International Separate Account investment managers, Benefit Plan assets and investment managers. The role includes investment manager due diligence, performance analysis, asset rebalancing, and preparation of governance materials for senior stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative manager research and selection, including performance, risk, style consistency, and organizational evaluation, while monitoring market and industry trends.
  • Support oversight of Benefit Plans investment managers and assets through daily operations, data management, and portfolio rebalancing to strategic targets.
  • Analyze portfolio performance versus benchmarks and peers, including risk-adjusted returns and detailed performance attribution across styles, sectors, regions, and factors.
  • Prepare board memos, recommendations, and presentations for governance committees and stakeholders.
  • Review investment guidelines and maintain reporting processes, including compiling and analyzing manager, fund, and performance data.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience; including a minimum of 5 years’ experience gained through relevant pension / endowment / foundation / sovereign wealth fund / investment consulting / private wealth / insurance sub-advisory / asset management tenure. 
  • Strong quantitative and technical skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate with an array of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI skills.  

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of multiple investment strategies and asset classes.
  • Practical experience using generative AI (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) and large language models to summarize large data sets and develop reports.  
  • Proficiency with investment analytics systems (e.g. Aladdin, Bloomberg, BondEdge, eVestment, Morningstar).
  • Preferable experience with VBA

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $118,300 - $157,700. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
