The Finance Technology team partners with the Financial Management Group (FMG) and Global Technologies Organization (GTO) to set strategy for MetLife’s enterprise core financial applications. This position presents a valuable opportunity to contribute to the Finance team as it undertakes the transformation of its operations through the implementation of the cloud-based ERP solution, Workday.
This role is with the Global Data Integrations (GDI) team within Finance Technology and will involve supporting the Global Data Integrations (GDI) Project Manager with planning and implementing MetLife’s financial administration systems into the GDI Accounting Rules Engine. Support the team in preparing for the migration to Workday’s Accounting Center by assisting with the analysis, design, and configuration needed to implement the application.
As a member of the GDI team, the Senior Technology Liaison acts as a liaison between business groups (e.g. Corporate Finance, Lines of Business (LOBs), Investment stakeholders) and IT Technology partners (e.g. Corporate IT and Line of Business (LOB) IT). General activities of the GDI team involve analyzing current output of admin systems, capturing business requirements from LOBs, and working with IT partners to coordinate the implementation of these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the GDI Project Manager through all phases of project implementation: planning/inception, analysis, design, testing and deployment
- Project Management: Host Working Sessions, Assist in Project Communications, and Status Reporting
- Analysis/Design: Perform detailed analysis of admin accounting functions, design and document future state business requirements, and serve as a liaison between business and GDI IT partners
- Testing: Analyze test results and review issues uncovered to determine appropriate resolution, communicate with LOBs, IT and testing partners, and track defects to completion.
- Deployment: Coordinate activities related to deployment and provide support through warranty period.
- Assist in the ERP Modernization effort to migrate from PS ERP and GDI to Workday Financials and Accounting Center
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 8-10 years in Business Analyst role with experience leading projects
- 3-5 years’ experience with Workday Financials and Accounting Center/Prism; ideally in an administrative capacity
- Experience supporting the migration to/implementation of Workday Financials and Accounting Center
- Advanced analytical skills; ability to troubleshoot issues to resolution
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to shift seamlessly when priorities change
- Good consensus builder, team player
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work autonomously and be proactive in identifying and resolving issues, recognizing and prioritizing tasks to be accomplished
- Capability to work with cross-functional, multi-location, multi-language teams
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, MIS (preferred), or related field
- Knowledge of Insurance product offerings and associated administrative systems
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statements
- Microsoft Project & Visio experience
