The Opportunity

The Senior Event Planner is responsible for leading the planning and execution of complex, high-visibility events that support MetLife's global business objectives and enhance our brand presence around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to own end to end event delivery for large-scale programs, working with senior stakeholders while bringing creativity and operational excellence to every detail. You will play a key role in translating strategy into impactful, well-executed experiences that connect audiences, elevate engagement and deliver measurable outcomes. 


Success in this role requires strong organizational discipline and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and cultures. The Senior Event Planner is responsible for delivering seamless execution and driving consistency across events. You'll collaborate closely across all businesses and external vendors in a highly team-oriented environment. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of global events, executive meetings, client programs, and sponsorship activations
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue coordination, program flow and on-site execution as well as leading a team onsite - while at other times operating as onsite support to colleagues
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships, ensuring efficient delivery and strong financial oversight
  • Apply emerging tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance planning efficiency and improve event delivery

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate planning or hospitality field
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% 
  • High level of ownership, adaptability, and accountability in high-profile environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using event technology platforms, such as Cvent, for venue sourcing, supplier management and financial tracking/ reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Foreign language skills are a plus

 

The expected salary range for this position is $107,300 - $142,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
