An outstanding growth opportunity exists for a candidate with a derivatives background to join the Valuations team, reporting to the Director of Valuations. The Senior Derivatives Associate will be an integral member of the Derivative Valuations Group that provides trade support including security setup, valuation, reconciliation, derivative modeling, and multi-platform reconciliation. The individual will have strong derivatives expertise and serve as backup to the group’s Director and help lead the group’s initiatives and ongoing projects. This team is also responsible for product management of the Murex platform, driving new product support, enhancements and efficiencies for Murex and Derivative Reporting that in turn feed the ledger.

Key Responsibilities:
- Daily pricing and review of derivatives valuations for the enterprise, explanations of price movements and analysis of breaks in valuations with counterparties
- Assist/backup for monthly signoff on derivatives valuations, due diligence procedures and additional reconciliations, value adjustments and explanation of price moves and P&L attribution to market risk factors.
- Lead in the development, analysis and testing of new models to support ongoing initiatives such as new business, new products, new regulatory requirements, etc.
- Produce regular valuation and analytics reporting related to derivatives positions
- Collaborate with front office, risk analytics, settlements, collateral management and technology to ensure accuracy of positions, and readiness for market events, or new regulations
- Conduct due diligence for research projects and investigations of a specialized nature as requested by senior management and external auditors
- Assist in the development of new systems’ capabilities to support expansion of international business and the related scope of derivatives products
- Take lead on new derivative product testing, implementation, and downstream systems impact
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 10+ years of experience within derivatives operations
- Strong derivatives product knowledge
- Strong SQL database and VBA coding skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Risk-adverse mindsight to prioritize urgent action items
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration (master’s degree and/or CFA preferred)
- Familiarity with valuations systems such as Murex, Numerix, and/or Calypso highly preferred
