Description and Requirements

The Policy Analyst supports the Government Relations team by providing timely analysis of legislative and regulatory activity and translating complex policy developments into actionable insights. The role involves conducting in-depth research, monitoring policy trends, and producing high-quality policy briefs, executive summaries, and advocacy materials. Ideal candidates bring strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills, a passion for public policy, and, preferably, experience in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and synthesize federal, state, and international legislative and regulatory developments impacting insurance and investment operations; maintain accurate legislative tracking records and policy‑related databases.
  • Produce clear, timely reports and written updates for internal stakeholders, including dashboards, policy summaries, and contributions to internal newsletters and briefings.
  • Develop high‑quality, executive‑ready briefing materials and presentations for meetings and events with business leaders, internal partners, and external stakeholders, including handling highly confidential content.
  • Support advocacy and policy teams through targeted research and drafting of policy briefs, position papers, and formal responses to public consultations and regulatory proposals.
  • Attend legislative hearings, regulatory meetings, and stakeholder engagements as needed; distill discussions into concise summaries highlighting key implications, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor policy‑relevant intelligence across traditional and digital channels, including legislative and regulatory social media activity, and summarize emerging issues and stakeholder sentiment.

Required Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 3–5 years of experience in policy analysis, government relations, or related internships/fellowships; bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of legislative processes and regulatory environments.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly in written and oral formats.
  • Highly organized self-starter with excellent time management skills; able to work independently, anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and adapt to shifting demands.
  • Proficient in technology and emerging tools, including AI applications in the public policy space; capable of producing clear, visually compelling presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally and effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Understanding of the financial services industry.

The expected salary range for this position is $89,700 - $119,500. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
