Join MetLife’s Financial Management Group (FMG), a strategic financial engine driving critical decision-making through financial planning, analysis, and risk management. As a member of the team, you'll be involved in topics including financial reporting, treasury, corporate actuarial, tax, investor relations and mergers and acquisitions. Positioned at the intersection of finance and strategy, you'll help ensure that MetLife meets customer obligations while supporting strategic objectives. Develop expertise across disciplines in a collaborative, results-driven environment while maintaining the financial strength and competitive edge of one of the world's leading institutions.

The Opportunity

The Quantitative Analytics Consultant is responsible for supporting advanced analytics and data-driven decision making across MetLife’s U.S. Group Disability business.

Guided by our purpose - always with you, building a more confident future - and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns, and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape how analytics, predictive modeling, and AI are used to improve business outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, and innovation. You will work closely with senior analytics leaders and partners across Pricing, Finance, Operations, Product, and Underwriting to solve complex business challenges, uncover actionable insights, and support analytical frameworks that inform key decisions.

This is an ideal opportunity for an analytical professional looking to expand their experience in predictive modeling, business performance measurement, and quantitative problem solving in an environment that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support advanced analytics initiatives across Disability pricing, business performance, projections, and operational effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain predictive models, statistical analyses, and analytical frameworks that support business decision-making.
  • Assist with treatment/control and quasi-experimental analyses to measure the impact of business initiatives.
  • Contribute to cost-benefit analyses, forecasting exercises, and business case assessments that support strategic priorities.
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators, early warning signals, and driver analyses to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Apply established model governance, validation practices, and analytical standards to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders and reporting teams to support dashboard enhancements, metric development, and analytics delivery.
  • Support ongoing model maintenance, refreshes, monitoring, recurring reporting, and analytical deliverables while identifying opportunities to improve existing approaches.
  • Summarize analytical findings into clear insights, visualizations, and business-ready recommendations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with large and complex datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using analytical programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience applying statistical methods, predictive analytics, machine learning, or quantitative modeling techniques to business problems.
  • Progress toward an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or equivalent quantitative analytical experience.
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into clear business insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within insurance, employee benefits, financial services, or other data-intensive industries.
  •  Exposure to actuarial pricing concepts, experience studies, underwriting analytics, or financial modeling.
  •  Experience using Alteryx to prepare, transform, and analyze data.
  •  Familiarity with Power BI or similar visualization tools to build, maintain, and enhance reporting solutions.
  •  Experience with cloud-based data environments such as Databricks or other large-scale data platforms.
  •  Exposure to predictive modeling techniques including GLMs, classification models, segmentation, or time series analysis.
  •  Experience supporting model documentation, governance, validation, or regulatory compliance processes.
  •  Ability to navigate ambiguity, think critically, and develop analytical solutions to complex business challenges.
