The Opportunity

The Business & AI Enablement Analyst plays a key role in helping MetLife Australia improve business performance through process optimisation, data-driven decision-making, and the practical application of AI and automation technologies. Guided by our purpose — always with you, building a more confident future — and our New Frontier strategy, this role supports the organisation in delivering better customer, claims and operational outcomes through innovation and continuous improvement.

Working across business and technology teams, you will identify opportunities to simplify processes, enhance productivity and embed AI-enabled capabilities into day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role that combines business analysis, process improvement and AI enablement to help drive meaningful and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and improve business processes, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate customer, claims and operational workflows.
  • Support AI and automation adoption, identifying practical use cases and helping teams implement AI-enabled solutions to improve productivity, decision-making and customer outcomes.
  • Translate insights into action, synthesising qualitative and quantitative information into clear recommendations that support business priorities and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement and experimentation, supporting pilot initiatives, measuring outcomes and scaling successful approaches across the business.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across functions, helping teams adopt new processes, tools and capabilities while delivering practical solutions to business challenges.

    Required Qualifications

  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement, operational excellence or a related discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to break down complex business challenges and identify practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse business processes and identify opportunities for simplification, optimisation or automation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Ability to synthesise information from multiple sources into actionable recommendations and business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in and understanding of AI, automation and digital technologies, with a desire to apply emerging capabilities to improve business outcomes.
  • Comfort using AI-enabled and digital productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft 365 Copilot or similar) to support efficient work outcomes, with sound judgement and adherence to organisational policies, governance and quality standards.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement, operational transformation or digital initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, workflow management or analytics tools.
  • Experience working across customer, claims, operations, digital or member engagement functions.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Design Thinking or other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Technology, Data Analytics, Operations or a related field.

This role would be particularly attractive to someone looking to build a career at the intersection of business improvement, AI adoption and operational transformation, while helping shape how MetLife leverages emerging technologies to deliver better outcomes for customers and employees.
