The Opportunity

This position within the Pension & Investment Manager Oversight team will provide analysis, oversight and evaluation of MetLife’s US and International Separate Account investment managers including:

  • Conducting manager reviews / due diligence (assessing qualitative/ quantitative metrics, peer / benchmark performance). 
  • Assisting with the continued build out of manager oversight infrastructure, reporting processes, and reporting dashboards for the overall business.

 


Key Responsibilities
  • Manager Research and Selection: Quantitative screening (e.g., performance evaluation, risk analysis, style consistency, peer group / benchmark comparisons).  Qualitative evaluation (e.g., management/organization, personnel, culture, etc.). Monitor and evaluate industry and market trends.
  • Support oversight of MetLife’s Benefit Plans investment managers by assisting with daily unit functions and operations.
  • Help draft board memos, recommendations, and presentations for review by governance committees and stakeholders.
  • Analyze portfolio performance versus benchmarks and peers. Use quantitative tools to assess risk-adjusted returns, performance attribution by style, market cap, region, sector, and factor.
  • Review investment guidelines and recommend updates for new security types and investment strategies.
  • Compile and process data for internal monitoring and reporting, including manager positions, fund information, and performance attribution.

 


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of investment experience preferably gained through relevant pension / endowment / foundation / sovereign wealth fund / investment consulting / private wealth experience.
  • Strong quantitative and technical skills.
  • Strong Excel (preferable experience with VBA), PowerPoint and Power BI skills.  
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of multiple investment strategies and asset classes.
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate with an array of internal and external constituents.
  • Proficiency with investment analytics systems (e.g. Bloomberg, BondEdge, eVestment, Morningstar, Lipper)
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred, other investment certifications a plus
  • Generalist understanding of equity and fixed income
  • Good understanding of AI

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $116,900 - $136,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
