We are looking for a new Payroll Manager to join our team in our team in Chile.
The Payroll Manager, Chile is responsible for ensuring the continuity, accuracy, and compliance of payroll operations across six legal entities in Chile. This role exists to protect employee trust, uphold MetLife’s control and audit standards, and enable the company’s strategic evolution of its payroll operating model. It is an exciting opportunity to drive payroll operational transformation, strengthening governance, standardizing processes, and supporting enhancements to systems, controls, and data quality. You will have the platform to modernize ways of working, improve the control environment, and support integration and testing activities in collaboration with global and regional teams.
What you will do in this role…
- Lead the end to end Chile payroll operation (six legal entities), ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
- Create robust governance artifacts—standard operating procedures, RACI matrices, control narratives, test scripts, and cutover plans—to support stable operations and audit readiness.
- Oversee performance, SLAs, and control effectiveness across payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory, internal audit, and data governance standards.
- Manage key activities related to payroll operational transformation, including process improvements, control design, system enhancements, testing cycles, and readiness milestones.
- Develop KPI/OKR dashboards and continuous improvement plans focused on accuracy, cycle time, incident reduction, and employee experience.
- Coordinate systems interaction with upstream and downstream platforms (e.g., Oracle HCM inbound, PeopleSoft Finance outbound), ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, and business continuity.
To help you succeed, you need to have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience) with demonstrated ownership of country‑level payroll operations.
- Experience in payroll governance and process improvement, including documentation, control design, and audit readiness.
- Familiarity with HR and Finance core systems, ideally including Oracle HCM and PeopleSoft Finance, ensuring appropriate integration and reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of Chilean labor, tax, social security, and regulatory frameworks, with proven ability to meet compliance and audit expectations.
- Excellent stakeholder and change management skills, with the ability to navigate cross‑functional priorities in complex environments.
And it will be a plus if you have...
- 7–10 years of payroll operations experience, including 3+ years leading Chile payroll in complex, multi‑entidad environments.
- Experience with Power BI/Excel for reconciliations, analytics, and control dashboards, and Power Automate for workflow and approvals.
- Exposure to BCP/operational risk frameworks and robust incident/problem management practices.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) and strong executive‑level communication.
