Enterprise Data & AI Governance (EDAG)
The Enterprise Data & AI Governance (EDAG) organization is part of the Data and Analytics Organization (DnA) within GTO. Our mission is to implement an enterprise‑wide approach to the governance of data and AI at MetLife, ensuring consistency of usage, responsible adoption, and a high level of confidence in data‑ and AI‑driven analytics and decision‑making capabilities.
To achieve this, we partner closely with other Data & Analytics (DnA) teams, Technology, and our business and functional stakeholders to build and deploy next‑generation data and AI capabilities as MetLife advances its New Frontier strategy.
EDAG Data Governance – Stakeholder Engagement
We are looking for an EDAG Data Governance Stakeholder Engagement Lead with a strong track record of supporting enterprise data management policies, procedures, tools, and integration initiatives. To be successful in this role, the candidate will bring a balance of product‑centric technical expertise and deep knowledge of data governance practices, including (but not limited to) metadata management, metamodeling, lineage documentation, data stewardship, and technical data quality processes.
Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, strong empathy, and the ability to engage effectively with senior business and IT partners globally, as well as peer program stakeholders and technical teams. This role will collaborate closely with stakeholders across business lines, corporate functions, and partners in Information Security, Risk, Privacy, and Compliance to ensure strong connectivity across our globally federated governance model.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engagements with leaders across MetLife, serving as the face of the Enterprise Data & AI Governance (EDAG) organization, ensuring successful adoption and implementation of MetLife’s data governance, data quality, and AI governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Coordinate and guide enterprise data governance implementation across programs and initiatives.
- Partner with business and functional analysts, providing expertise and guidance on requirements definition and implementation approaches.
- Collaborate with extended program teams, contributing expertise to proposals, including high‑level data solutions, effort estimates, and implementation plans.
- Provide ongoing support to program teams across the data lifecycle, including governance, ownership and accountability models, data quality management, and issue resolution.
- Demonstrate curiosity and a strong appetite for learning new technologies, with an innovation‑oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading or contributing to enterprise‑wide Data Governance or Data Quality.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to explain complex data governance and data quality concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience acting as a subject‑matter expert, providing guidance on data governance and data quality practices and supporting tooling.
- Demonstrated experience supporting data governance processes within a financial services or insurance environment.
- Proven ability to lead through influence, driving collaboration and alignment across diverse, cross‑functional teams.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong technical program management skills, with experience delivering complex, large‑scale, multi‑team enterprise initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in data management, data science, computer science, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Collibra, Ataccama, EDC, IDQ, or other data management and governance platforms.
- Certification in EDM Council frameworks (DCAM, CDMC) or other recognized data governance standards.
- Fluency in Portuguese is a plus.
