The Opportunity
The Global Tax Summer Internship provides students with hands-on exposure to how a large, complex organization manages its U.S. and international tax obligations. Interns will work alongside tax professionals through compliance, reporting, planning, and transformation initiatives, with a growing focus on automation, data analytics, and responsible use of AI in tax.
This program provides meaningful hands-on learning while contributing directly to ongoing tax operations and innovation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day, monthly, and quarterly activities of the Global Tax Department, including tax reporting, compliance, and planning.
- Support preparation of tax information reported in U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory financial statements.
- Assist with components of the U.S. income tax return and related schedules.
- Perform tax research and summarize findings for review by tax professionals.
- Collaborate with internal partners across Finance, Treasury, Investments, and Actuarial teams.
- Support tax process automation initiatives, including data mapping, reconciliations, and report generation.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to standardize, streamline, and document tax processes using technology.
- Work with tax professionals to help prepare structured data sets used in tax reporting, compliance, and analytics.
- Gain exposure to how AI-assisted tools are responsibly used in tax research, documentation, and workflow support (under professional supervision).
- Participate in special projects focused on improving data quality, transparency, and repeatability within tax processes.
- Participate in intern learning sessions, presentations, and team meetings.
- Prepare a summary presentation or project deliverable highlighting work completed and lessons learned.
- Receive feedback and mentorship from experienced tax professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or Business Analytics
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines or Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to complete tasks and share information effectively
- GPA of at least 3.0
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or experience involving data analysis, information systems, or process improvement.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a complex, regulated environment.
