The Opportunity

The Senior Consultant - Executive Compensation plays a key role in advancing the effectiveness and efficiency of MetLife’s global executive compensation programs.  Guided by our purpose – always with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity that combines advanced analytics, AI-enabled tools, and process optimization to deliver insights, strengthen governance, and drive execution across multiple executive compensation priorities. The role is accountable for conducting research and analysis on executive compensation trends globally, providing data and insights to facilitate market-aligned pay decisions, and playing a central role in meeting public company requirements including preparing Board Compensation Committee materials and the annual proxy statement. It also drives core elements of the Pay for Performance process through modeling, analytics, and reporting while improving workflows, data integration, and execution across job evaluation, offers, incentive accruals, and compliance activities in partnership with key stakeholders around the world.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct executive compensation analytics, reporting and data (e.g., managing executive officer data, survey market intelligence, market practice, trends, regulatory updates, etc.), leveraging AI and automation to enhance processes and improve data accuracy, reporting, planning tools, insights, and Board/Committee deliverables.
  • Monitor proxy advisory firm and investor policies, peer disclosures, earnings releases, news headlines, market trends, and regulatory developments and conduct practical, thoughtful research leveraging AI-driven tools to enhance benchmarking and generate insights and provide consultative guidance on emerging compensation trends.
  • Provide proxy statement support, including development of disclosures (e.g., CD&A, SCT, CEO pay ratio, etc.), ensuring compliance and clarity through effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of draft communication materials for various audiences (employees, board, external) regarding compensation programs.
  • Deliver endtoend executive compensation process support, including global job evaluation, offer development, and incentive accrual reviews, leveraging AI, automation, and analytics to enhance speed, consistency, data accuracy, and continuous process improvement while ensuring alignment across stakeholders and internal/external equity.  

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in executive compensation, consulting, or related corporate function, with strong involvement in analytics and governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using analytics and AI tools to drive insights, create executive-ready graphics, enhance reporting, and automate processes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations; excellent communication and storytelling abilities, including experience preparing executive-level materials.
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments, functions, or locations operating with a global mindset.
  • High attention to detail, integrity and willingness to support ad hoc requests, with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance in a fast-paced, global environment with evolving priorities and multiple stakeholders. 

 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a public company or executive compensation consulting firm, including exposure to SEC requirements, public disclosures and Board governance.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with global HR systems and compensation platforms (e.g., Oracle, WTW).
  • Experience applying AI tools to analytics, reporting, or workflow optimization within HR or compensation functions.
  • Progress toward or attainment of CCP and/or CECP certification.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $108,000 - $142,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
