The Opportunity 

MetLife Corporate Technology – Controls IT is seeking a Lead Functional Analyst – Risk Technology Product Owner. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Risk, including Audit, Operational Risk Management, Compliance Risk, Technology Risk and Financial Risk.  The candidate will have years of experience managing OpenPages platform, or similar GRC platforms, and understand the platform's capability vs the needs from all the different risk partners.  The ability to drive alignment and delivery for the most impactful capability to drive the enablement for our risk partners to the next level, which would include enhanced employee experience across the company.  

 

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Act as Product Owner for OpenPages features and risk workflows across multiple domains (Audit, Operational Risk Management, Compliance Risk, Technology Risk and Financial Risk.)
  • Lead discovery sessions to observe, document, and validate business processes and capture key insights for complex product/system.
  • Influence tactical vs strategic business requirements and guide the risk partners on best practices to drive enhanced risk posture and adoption from employees.
  • Translate functional requirements into OpenPages configurations: modules, schema changes, workflows, calculations, and task-focused UIs.
  • Partner with OpenPages technical developers, vendors and architects to deliver high-quality solutions, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Support UAT planning, testing, and production validation for OpenPages releases.
  • Design and optimize reporting, dashboards, and control monitoring tools in OpenPages and related analytics platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and traceability across OpenPages modules and source systems.
  • Track and manage a backlog of features, enhancements, and fixes using Agile practices.


Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in operational risk, audit, compliance, or finance risk domains.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience working as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Product Owner on IBM OpenPages or similar GRC platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to establish strong relationships across teams and business partners to effectively deliver work across the enterprise.
  • Proven expertise with risk and control frameworks such as PRCs, Issue Management, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and Loss Event Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of audit processes, control libraries, and enterprise risk governance.
  • Ability to document user stories, process flows, and functional requirements clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with system configuration, UAT coordination, and release management.
  • Excellent analysis, communication, problem solving, process improvement and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team, drive solutions with minimal supervision, be highly motivated and a quick learner.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize business outcomes and high-level business requirements into clear feature breakdown and prioritization including writing user stories.
  • Experience working in a complex global organization with proven effectiveness operating in a global company spanning multiple business units.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline required.


Preferred Skills: 

  • Hands-on experience with OpenPages including schema configuration, workflows, triggers, and task-focused UI.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, data integrations, and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Power BI).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Prior experience supporting additional GRC tools like Aravo, Archer, ServiceNow, etc. for large financial institutions or regulated industries.
  • Project management and Agile Delivery experience a plus.
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
