Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre‑Printing Setup & Mail Merge Specialist to support high-volume document production in Clarks Summit, PA. across Windows and mainframe platforms, including wide format printing operations. This role is responsible for preparing data, executing mail merges, setting up print-ready files for both standard and large-format output, and ensuring all materials meet quality, formatting, and delivery standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with clear, professional communication to coordinate effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Pre‑Print & Document Preparation

  • Prepare and validate files for print production, ensuring proper formatting, layout, pagination, and data integrity.
  • Perform pre‑printing setup for both standard and wide format printing, including scaling, bleed, resolution, and color considerations.
  • Create print-ready files suitable for high-volume and large-format output.
  • Troubleshoot formatting, alignment, and data issues prior to printing to minimize production errors.

Mail Merge & Data Processing

  • Execute mail merge operations using data from both Windows-based systems and mainframe platforms.
  • Import, cleanse, and validate large data sets to ensure accurate personalization and variable data printing.
  • Communicate data issues clearly with stakeholders and data owners to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Platform & System Support

  • Work with Windows applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Adobe tools, or print composition software) for document setup and merging.
  • Interface with mainframe-generated data files (e.g., flat files, reports, or structured outputs) for downstream print processing.
  • Support cross-platform workflows to ensure seamless handoff from data generation to print and mail fulfillment.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Perform quality checks on merged documents and wide format output to ensure accuracy, readability, and compliance with job specifications.
  • Verify final output meets internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable postal or regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain clear documentation of procedures, workflows, and production requirements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with print operators, mailroom staff, IT teams, and business partners regarding job requirements, timelines, and production status.
  • Provide clear written and verbal instructions for print and mail jobs.
  • Participate in production meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in pre‑printing setup, document composition, or print production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with mail merge processes and variable data printing.
  • Experience supporting or setting up wide format printing jobs.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe, or similar document tools).
  • Experience handling data originating from mainframe systems or enterprise data feeds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight production deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume print and mail operations.
  • Familiarity with postal standards, barcoding, or mail presort processes.
  • Exposure to print composition or wide format software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Inspire, Quadient, or similar tools).
  • Understanding of data formats such as flat files, CSV, or fixed-width files.
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.

The expected salary range for this position is $59,300 - $79,100. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
