The product specialist group is focused on product management and strategy across the private capital platform at MetLife Investment Management (“MIM”). Private capital consists of asset-based finance, residential mortgage credit, infrastructure and corporate private placements. The goal of the product specialist team is to serve as the liaisons between MIM’s Institutional Client Group (“ICG”), with its prospective and existing third-party investors, and the private capital investment teams. The product specialist team works to ideate and implement private capital strategy for both the general account and third-party investors, coordinating across MIM’s Product, ICG, and Investment teams. The team serves as subject matter experts for marketing and diligence materials and helps to craft the messaging of each asset class to enhance ICG’s investor conversations and sales process.

 

The Associate, Private Capital, is responsible for participating in prospective and existing client meetings and helping to manage the investor due diligence process. The Associate will draft all marketing materials and assist with thought leadership and other client outreach initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be heavily involved in the ideation and implementation of new investment strategies such as fund launches and SMA structures and touch upon all areas of a global organization. Success in this role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders. The Associate - Private Capital, will collaborate closely with MIM’s ICG and Investment teams in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create marketing materials specific to private capital asset classes (Residential Credit and Private Asset Based Finance) and other thought leadership pieces
  • Oversee the quality control of all investments data that will go out to third-party investors for due diligence and in marketing collateral
  • Manage the product strategy vertically across investment teams, ICG, Insurance Asset Management, and other areas of MIM as needed
  • Develop a library of investor materials and set up and maintain processes for investor diligence and fundraise management
  • Coordinate with MIM’s investment and product development teams on new funds and investment strategies

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required: 

  • 2+ years’ experience at an asset manager, bank, or other financial institution
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Collaborative and a team player; communicates respectfully and clearly with others
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Desire to be an “owner” of processes and responsibilities; a self-starter

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of private markets, particularly credit markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  • Knowledge of insurance products and insurance investments
  • Advanced Excel and Visual Basic (VBA) skills a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel and meet with clients and prospective clients

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
