The Lead Platform Engineer is responsible for serving as the enterprise platform owner for citizen developer platforms, translating architectural direction and governance guardrails into secure, scalable, and compliant platform configurations that enable innovation while protecting the enterprise across MetLife’s global technology landscape. This role supports platform configuration, operational controls, and technical governance implementation across regions and environments globally. Serve as the lead platform administrator for Microsoft Power Platform and other approved citizen developer platforms, owning enterprise-wide platform operations and governance.
Define, implement, and enforce platform governance controls, including environment strategy, security, access management, DLP policies, compliance, and operational standards.
Lead global platform administration activities, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and adherence to enterprise guardrails.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform administrators and regional platform teams, promoting consistent administration and governance practices.
Own the evaluation and rollout of new platform capabilities, governance features, and operational controls, ensuring readiness for enterprise adoption.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex platform, security, compliance, and tenant administration issues.
Drive automation and continuous improvement of governance, monitoring, auditing, reporting, and platform lifecycle management processes.
Partner with Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Engineering teams to translate governance requirements into sustainable platform controls and operational processes.
Establish and track platform operational, governance, and adoption metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvement across the platform ecosystem.
Lead governance reviews and administration assessments to ensure platform usage aligns with enterprise standards, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with 7+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years designing, implementing, and administering Microsoft Power Platform and other citizen developer platforms.
3+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio), including environments, policies, connectors, licensing, governance controls, and tenant administration within a large global enterprise.
Strong expertise in platform governance, administration, and operational management, with a deep understanding of security, compliance, risk controls, scalability, and enterprise adoption.
Proven experience leading technical proofs of concept, platform evaluations, and rollout of new capabilities, assessing business value, governance implications, and operational readiness.
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring platform engineers and administrators while driving platform standards, best practices, and governance adoption across distributed teams.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to lead resolution of complex platform, security, compliance, and operational issues while influencing stakeholders across Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Engineering organizations.
Experience driving automation, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform reliability, governance effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Proven ability to translate architectural standards, governance requirements, and enterprise guardrails into scalable platform controls, administrative processes, and operational practices.
Extensive experience implementing, administering, and governing Microsoft Power Platform and other citizen developer platforms in large, global enterprise environments, including multi-region and federated operating models.
Hands-on experience with AI, automation, and citizen developer platforms (e.g., Copilot Studio, Claude CoWork, Pega), with strong knowledge of cloud platforms, security, identity and access management, integrations, and enterprise governance.
The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $155,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
