Inbound Sales Rep


Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 - 5:30pm EST for the first 3 weeks.

Shift details:  We are hiring for all three shifts:      8-4:30pm EST, 10-6:30pm EST, 12:30-9pm EST, Monday - Friday.  (Shift preference is considered but not guaranteed) 

PLUS One weekend (Saturday & Sunday) a month (10-7pm EST) on a rotating schedule

On the week you work weekend, you will be given 2 days off during the week to compensate for the weekend work. (not necessarily consecutive.) 


Candidates that are within 50 miles and commutable to a MetLife office will be required in-office 1x per month.


Requirement:  Candidates must have an active Property & Casualty License (not personal lines), in their home state and the ability to obtain all 50 states after hire.

Role Value Proposition:

 

MetLife's Inside Sales Representative will work directly with pet parents to provide solutions for their pet insurance needs in a call center environment. He or she will manage and optimize inbound calls as well as other leads to increase policy sales. The Sales Agent will work to improve customer retention by problem solving, educating, and providing a WOW! experience for their customer.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Manage inbound email, chat and phone inquiries from pet parents for the purpose of selling pet insurance policies.
  • Manage time and other resources to ensure sales goals are met consistently.
  • Handle all interactions promptly and effectively to minimize wait times.
  • Build rapport with potential customers to reinforce the value of MetLife's brand and our pet insurance products.
  • Build strong knowledge of products and services offered.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 plus years sales experience
  • Proven attendance reliability.
  • Flexible schedule requirements, with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Possession of an active Property and Casualty insurance license in home state - required prior to hire
  • The ability to obtain 50 states as a condition of employment.

 

Preferred:

  • Proven sales success within an inbound service environment, preferably a direct sales environment.
  • Insurance industry sales experience
  • Service industry and/or Contact Center experience
  • Ability to operate in a fast-pace, multi-tasking environment with deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and phone communication skills.
  • Excellent tracking, follow-up, negotiating, and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently overcome objections.
  • Articulate, professional, and possesses a strong quality sales mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proven history of adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Strong computer background using MS Word, Excel, and Internet.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation under the sales plan for the position. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.

$41,600
