The Opportunity:
As a member of MetLife’s People Planning and Insights team (PP&I), you will lead a high-performing team of analytics consultants and data scientists, responsible for delivering actionable insights that drive business and talent decisions across the enterprise. You will provide thought leadership, consultation, and operational guidance to HR partners and business leaders on a wide variety of workforce issues, empowering others to harness the power of people data to drive informed decision-making, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and enhance employee experience.
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities):
- Lead PP&I’s strategic approach to People Analytics consulting and advanced analytics for our businesses, functions and regions, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor and innovation.
- Partner with HR business partners (HRBPs) and business leaders to identify opportunities for leveraging data-driven insights to improve workforce decisions.
- Seize opportunities by understanding the goals and challenges for our business, along with a comprehensive view of PP&I’s capability and data to be able to make connections and deliver impactful outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence HR and business strategies.
- Utilize internal and external data sets to conduct analyses on the MetLife workforce compared to external labor market trends to provide a complete story to partners.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages the proactive application of people analytics and strategic workforce planning to solve business challenges.
- Promote best practices in data visualization, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision making.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging trends and advancements to ensure the application of innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies in data analytics.
Key Relationships:
· Reports to: SVP, People Planning & Insights and Global Employee Relations
· Direct Reports: 5-7
· Primary stakeholders include MetLife’s HRBP community, HR Leadership team, and senior business leaders
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):
- Subject Matter Expertise: Strong expertise in people analytics, strategic workforce planning, labor market analysis, and data-driven talent strategies; demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Consulting Skills: Skilled at relationship management, partnering with senior leaders and HR teams to influence decision-making.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to build future-focused strategies that combine practicality, rigor and alignment to business priorities.
- Collaboration and Influence: Ability to partner effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds and levels of experience; ability to advance new initiatives and secure alignment with senior stakeholders.
- Empowering Leadership: The ability to motivate and manage in an empowering and inclusive environment.
- Business Acumen: Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and support business objectives.
- Communications: Outstanding oral / written communications skills and executive presence
- Agility: Experience delivering high-impact results in fast-paced, matrixed organizations with shifting priorities and complex stakeholder networks
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, with at least 5 years in people analytics or a related HR data science function.
- 5+ years of experience managing and scaling high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to consult with senior executives and translate business problems into analytical solutions.
- Deep expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data storytelling.
