Description and Requirements
The RIS business is a US business segment that offers a wide range of products, including Stable Value & Investment products, Structured Settlements, Institutional Income Annuities, Pensions, UK Reinsurance, Post-Retirement Benefits and Specialized Benefit Resources. In 2023 we began migrating the financial planning and analysis for RIS products out of excel and into Anaplan. This associate would be the chief model owner in charge of the Anaplan code and any code enhancements, all key design decisions, inputs, outputs, UAT*, production support, model governance and controls. This associate would be leading this effort end-to-end, working with the internal CFO team, actuarial, controllers and the business area to ensure the tool is accurately modeling these products based on the current process.
This position will be a member of the Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) Finance department. The associate will be part of the RIS CFO team and will be responsible for leading our Anaplan FP&A migration.
*User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is a critical phase in the software development lifecycle where end users test the system to ensure it meets their expectations.
· Lead the Anaplan migration effort for MetLife, working with our implementation partners and internal teams to ensure timely and complete project delivery
· Migrate remaining user stories and prototypes out of excel and into the Anaplan tool, working with product analysts to understand modeling and core requirements
· Take ownership over Anaplan code, including production support, design of inputs, outputs and analytical dashboards
· Work with IT and other partners to establish data connections with other MetLife systems and ensure overall integration into MetLife’s technology stack
· Ensure compliance with Anaplan best practices, including workspace management and model optimization
· Responsible for overall lifecycle management of the model
· Establish and maintain UAT procedures, including code management between QA and Production environments
· Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and control standards, including creation and maintenance of model and system documentation
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
· Anaplan Level 2 Training Certification with 3+ years of Anaplan experience in a professional environment (preferably)
· Graduated Actuary, B.S. in a quantitative field such as Math, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting or Engineering
· 5+ years relevant experience in the insurance industry
· Experience in Corporate Finance, preferably in financial planning and analysis
· Experience with core Anaplan functionality such as lists, modules, dashboarding, and life cycle management
· Experience migrating models from excel and other platforms into Anaplan
· Experience with transforming Anaplan outputs into data visualization tools (Power BI) for management reporting
· Strong modeling, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Anaplan Certified Solution Architect or Certified Master Anaplanner
· AI tools projects/knowledge/developments
· Ability to manage multiple projects at once and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
