Job Description (JD): Power Automate RPA Expert (Power Automate Desktop) – Investments/Asset Management

Position Summary
We are looking for a Power Automate RPA Expert to build and run enterprise-grade automations for Investment/Asset Management operations. The role will focus on Power Automate (Cloud Flows + Power Automate Desktop) with additional exposure to Blue Prism to support existing bots and/or migration initiatives. The candidate should be comfortable working with business users and control functions in a regulated environment, delivering secure, resilient, and auditable automations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support automations using Power Automate Cloud Flows and Power Automate Desktop (attended/unattended).
- Automate workflows such as trade support, reconciliations, reporting, corporate actions support, onboarding/KYC operations, reference/master data updates, and email-driven exception handling.
- Integrate automations with enterprise systems and data sources (as applicable): Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, file shares, APIs, databases, and vendor platforms.
- Implement production-quality patterns: exception handling, retries, logging, alerts, runbooks, and monitoring.
- Work closely with stakeholders to capture requirements, map processes, and document:
- Process Definition Document (PDD) / Solution Design Document (SDD)
- Test cases, deployment steps, and operational handover
- Participate in UAT, release planning, deployment, and hypercare; provide L2/L3 support with strong RCA skills.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards: credential handling, least-privilege access, audit trails, data privacy, and operational controls.
- Provide support in a multi-tool ecosystem:
- Understand and troubleshoot Blue Prism processes/objects (enhancements, fixes, operational support)
- Assist with feasibility assessments or migration from Blue Prism to Power Automate where required
- Contribute to best practices: reusable components, code reviews, naming standards, and solution templates.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with CoE/Platform teams on tooling and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6–10 years of overall experience with strong hands-on focus on RPA/automation.
- Proven expertise in:
- Power Automate Desktop (UI automation, selectors, desktop/web automation patterns)
- Power Automate Cloud Flows (approvals, notifications, orchestration, connectors)
- Strong experience with automation of:
- Excel-heavy processes (data validation, transformations, reconciliation support)
- Email ingestion and routing (Outlook), document handling, file operations
- Web portals / thick-client applications (stability, timing, resilience techniques)
- Integration capabilities:
- REST APIs, JSON, error handling, authentication concepts (tokens/keys as applicable)
- Solid SDLC experience: requirements, design, build, test, deploy, and support.
- Strong troubleshooting and operational mindset for production automations.
Blue Prism (Required/Preferred)
- Working knowledge / exposure to Blue Prismincluding understanding of:
- Process Studio and Object Studio concepts
- Basic operational support / troubleshooting
- Ability to collaborate with Blue Prism teams and support transition/hybrid operations.
Domain (Investments / Asset Management) – Preferred
- Familiarity with asset management operations and controls (any of the below is a plus):
- Trade lifecycle support, settlements, confirmations
- Reconciliations (cash/positions), NAV support inputs, break management
- Corporate actions processing support
- Static/reference data maintenance
- Regulatory/management reporting support and audit readiness
- Comfort working in controlled environments with strong emphasis on traceability and approvals.
Nice to Have
- Power Platform ecosystem exposure: Power Apps, Dataverse, AI Builder.
- CI/CD familiarity (Azure DevOps or GitHub), environment promotion practices.
- Knowledge of credential vaulting / secrets management (e.g., Azure Key Vault) and security best practices.
- Relevant certifications: Microsoft Power Platform and/or Blue Prism.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Systems (or equivalent practical experience).
