Position Summary

 

 

PE/RE/REJV is a team handling Alternative Investment Finance Operations for various MetLife Line of     Businesses. The team at GOSC handles Private Equity, Real Estate & Real Estate Joint Venture’s Cash and Reporting activities. Activities help Controllers and the senior management in making business decisions. Applications used include PeopleSoft, Yardi (Sub-ledger) Hyperion and many internal MetLife Applications. The Role supports endtoend financial reporting and accounting for the process and ensures accuracy, compliance, and disciplined execution across key processes while maintaining strong coordination with stateside partners.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

 

 

1.      Monthly/ quarterly accounting entries for various cash accounts and daily settlements of accounts as per US GAAP.

2.      Assist with monthly financial reporting, such as booking accounting entries and setting up wire transfers. Ensure overall governance and highlight/escalate potential issues

3.      Performing variance analysis for various accounts/reports.

4.      Performing Balance sheet certifications.

5.      Complete special requests and ad-hoc reports as requested. 

6.      Plan workflows for all deliverables in advance of quarter end.

7.      Reconcile various accounts and promptly research and correct any variances.

8.      Run reports from various systems.

9.      Analyze and report interrelationships of financial information.

10.   Support process improvement and automation initiatives.

11.   The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment is critical.

12.   Support financial analysis/reporting and the integrity of financial data

13.   Document procedures and processes.

14.   Support process improvement 

15.   Ensuring smooth month/Quarter/Year end close.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

 

Education

·       Commerce Graduate or MBA from Recognized University. Additional qualification would be added advantage

 

Experience

·       2 years of post-qualification work experience in relevant field is required

 

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

·       Knowledge of Accounting, Reporting & Reconciliations

·       Investigate, resolve and reconcile outstanding balances and items

·       Excellent business writing and communication skills

·       Excellent analytical and research skills. 

·       Self-Starter & Self-Motivated, well organized and flexible with a sense of urgency approach

·       Adaptability to change

·       Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritizing effectively.

·       Ability to find creative and innovative solutions to business problems

·       Strong organizational and project management skills
