The Opportunity 

The Junior Software Engineer - AI & Delivery Acceleration is responsible for accelerating development productivity and delivery outcomes through AI-enabled solutions and modern development practices across LATAM's technology portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of MetLife's AI transformation while building enterprise-scale applications that improve customer experiences and business operations. You'll work with cutting-edge AI tools, cloud-native technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that matter to millions of users.

The Junior Software Engineer will contribute to building AI-enhanced applications and optimizing delivery processes. How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

• Contribute to development of AI-enhanced applications using modern frameworks and cloud platforms
• Create automated solutions and tools that improve development productivity and code quality
• Support implementation of AI/ML capabilities into existing applications and new platform features
• Participate in agile delivery practices including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement activities
• Develop proficiency with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot, automated testing frameworks, and DevSecOps pipelines
• Coordinate with mentors and senior team members to learn enterprise software development practices and business domain knowledge

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
• Basic proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#) and eagerness to learn additional languages
• Understanding of fundamental software development concepts including object-oriented programming, data structures, and basic algorithms
• Familiarity with database concepts and basic SQL for data manipulation and retrieval
• Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English for effective collaboration with regional and global teams
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies through academic projects or internship experience

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

• Internship or project experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or containerization technologies (Docker)
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts, frameworks, or tools through coursework or personal projects
• Understanding of agile methodologies, version control systems (Git), or CI/CD concepts
• Experience with web development frameworks or API development
• Interest in automation, process improvement, and emerging technologies
