Role Value Proposition

This position provides first-level support for MetLife Finance systems and users globally. The position will act as a single point of contact for support of the “record to report” and “plan to project” finance ensuring that the Finance organization is able to meet its objectives and deadlines. This position will also be involved in the transition of various project initiatives to a production support environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides subject matter expertise for MetLife’s Finance systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion Suite, Essbase) in support of Finance users and processes  (“record to report” and “plan to project”).
• Responsible for utilizing established MetLife/ITIL processes in support of incident resolution and request fulfillment
• Understands business impact and escalates unresolved incidents to second level support, IT or management in a timely fashion.
• Participates in assignments or projects of a routine or non-routine, basic to complex level, dependent upon position in learning curve.
•  May assist in Developing business requirements, documenting procedures & processes, and testing as a subject matter expert on cross functional IT/business teams developing financial systems or financial accounting transactions and controls within administrative systems.
• May guide the activities of entry-level staff members.
• Interacts with internal and external customers.
• Partners with peers both in region and globally to ensure seamless service and escalation, uniformity of processes, and continued encouragement of process improvement and LEAN initiatives.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

 Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2-5 year’s total experience providing user/systems support, preferably in the Finance industry. Strong demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, communications, prioritization, and time management skills.
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Computer Science/Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, OR equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of finance functions, processes and systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion Suite, Essbase, or equivalents).
• Strong proficiency with computer systems, PC’s and financial software applications (i.e. spreadsheets, financial modeling software). Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, principles and practices.
• Ability to present and communicate concisely and clearly with conclusions and recommendations in a manner that both financial & non-financial audiences can understand.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of the ITIL Framework and processes, LEAN principles and ability to identify, design, and  implement process improvements.
• MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint capabilities.
•  Adaptable to various work situations; ability to work well with others across all levels of management and geographies.
