Description and Requirements

  • Deputy Sales Manager (AM) is responsible for driving individual sales performance & results through Sales team of the designated branches.  
  • It will require the development of a detailed understanding including Branch Directors (BD), RBD, RMM, ICM/LBS.  
  • This role requires the incumbent to develop a closely working relationship and responsive sales support and training and development strategy with ICM / LBS and supervise them through coaching, training and mentoring.  
  • Ensure that all operations and activities undertaken comply with legal & regulatory requirements and BIDV-MetLife’s direction.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Implement the branch sales model
    • Work with branch management, ICM/ LBS to implement the sales model in each of the designated branches
    • Create a culture of collaboration and cooperation between ICM/LBS, branch staff and branch management
    • Work closely with ICM/ LBS to build a deep and robust sales pipeline 
    • Work with branch management throughout the branch network to implement the sales process 
  2. Drive sales and sales operations
    • Plan to meet the stated objectives and related KPIs for a given branch network.
    • Drive sales productivity through direct management of business, activity and performance measures of ICM / LBS
    • Identifying training needs and coaching opportunities & effective co-operate with trainer mapping.
    • Deliver product training, sales seminars, prospecting support, coaching and point of sales training and support as required
    • Seek out new opportunities to win business that can significantly increase sales and improve profitability through branch insurance days, customer seminars and lead generation activities
    • Participate in weekly sales team meetings and present current status of sales plan to management
  3. Relationship Management
    • Add value as a strategic partner of the bank and bring ideas/solutions as well as efficient sales processes to their insurance business
    • Develop collaborative relationships with BD/RBD/RMM/ICM/LBS to facilitate increased business opportunities for both parties and help the branches to build sales capabilities that bind the organizations together in the pursuit of common business goals
    • Ensure the requirements of the bank partner and the insurance company are fully understood to develop and implement appropriate action plans including but not limited to new product ideas, sales training, marketing programs, sales campaigns, sales conferences and product launch campaigns
  4. Assist with the management/performance measurements of ICM and LBS.
    • Provide regular performance feedback to sales management of individual and branch performance
    • Generate and present ideas for improving productivity and performance of the branch sales network. 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Minimum 2years of sales management experience within life insurance or other financial services industry
  • Minimum 01 years of experience in leading and managing life insurance sales teams
  • General understanding of financial planning concepts and practices
  • Working knowledge of compliance and how it is applied to banking and insurance.
  • Good verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Management & Motivation skills: able to inspire, motivate and develop ICM/LBS team to deliver business performance.
  • University/College Degree or equivalent preferred.
