Role Valuation Proposition
The incumbent will be supporting the modelling team in implementing and maintaining MetLife Asia’s actuarial financial models on Prophet, mainly focused on the carrying out the design by the leadership. Also, the incumbent has to carry out the coding to meet internal and external requirements and overseeing the model development or model conversion of the countries designated to him/her
The incumbent will also be looking after issues that arise during the model development or the model conversion. This includes understanding differences between new and old models, and explaining to/resolving with local countries if possible

Reports to: Director of Actuarial Modeling
Other Key Stakeholders: AVP Asia Modeling in Hong Kong, regional and local actuaries, Actuarial IT
Key Responsibilities:
Play the model developer role in the BAU process of actuarial model releases for the businesses in Asia. The responsibilities include:
- Maintain the actuarial model in accordance with internal and external requirements
- Resolve difficult technical issues encountered in the model release process or production
- Implement new projects according to the needs of local business units
- Closely and regularly communicate with local country counterparts on the model requirements and issues encountered
- Perform appropriate model control processes & prepare proper documentation
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:
· Have past experience of successful implementation of actuarial models on Prophet for multinational insurance companies
- At least 2-4 years of practical Prophet experience, in-depth knowledge of using advanced features in Prophet. ALS experience will be a big plus
- Have experience of working with actuarial models for reporting, pricing and valuation under different accounting frameworks
- Have past work experience in EV, US GAAP, LDTI, IFRS and local statutory financial reporting
- A qualified or nearly qualified actuary from an internationally recognised profession or qualified by suitable experience, such as ASA or FSA.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python will be a plus
- Strong in communication with peoples from different countries and have different cultures
