The Private Capital group at MIM is an industry leader in private credit investments. It manages one of the largest portfolios globally, with £113.5 billion assets under management as of December 31, 2024. MIM’s private capital strategies seek to invest in high quality private debt securities that offer attractive yield potential, portfolio diversification, downside protection and asset-liability matching. The Portfolio Management team is the client-facing element of the Private Credit group. It is responsible for overseeing the construction and management of investment portfolios for institutional clients.

 

The Opportunity 

MIM’s Private Capital team is seeking an Analyst or Associate for its Portfolio Management team. The Analyst / Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of private credit portfolios. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading asset manager and expand your private credit expertise. You will be based in London and report to the Head of EMEA Portfolio Management.

Success in this Portfolio Management role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organisation and attention to detail, and a team-driven attitude. The Analyst / Associate will contribute to the selection of investment opportunities for clients and execution of transactions. The Analyst / Associate will collaborate closely with the Private Credit origination team and our Institutional Client Group in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

 

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Work within our team of portfolio managers to ensure that portfolios are effectively manage and comply with client guidelines
  • Monitor portfolios, review credit developments, write updates for clients and portfolio reviews
  • Address investment-related queries received from clients
  • Contribute to responses to requests for proposal
  • Prepare and take part in pitches to prospective clients

 

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • Strong academic background, with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) degree from a leading university
  • Understanding of credit investment (this can be through education)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships and work well in a team environment
  • Fluency in business-level English

 

 What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Work experience in private credit and/or portfolio management
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Aladdin and/or Salesforce
  • European language skills
