Responsibilities:

Lead and/or support the following credit risk management related responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing and reviewing credit risk policies, procedures and credit limits to mitigate potential losses
  • Evaluating reinsurance and/or derivatives programs/strategies from credit risk management perspective
  • Preparing and/or reviewing contractual agreements including but not limited to reinsurance collateral guidelines, negotiating optimal collateral terms
  • Monitoring and identifying key credit risks in the portfolio (bonds, loans, securitization, real estate, derivatives, reinsurance, etc.) and formulate risk mitigation plans
  • Reporting to the relevant stakeholders including committees and senior management as required
  • Regularly evaluating the effectiveness of risk management processes and making necessary improvements
  • Other related works
  • Potentially the successor for Head of Credit Risk Management over time.

Requirements: Please describe the required competencies, including experience, skill sets, etc.

Experience:

  • + 10 year work experience in credit / market risk management, asset management, investment accounting areas at a financial institution
  • Work experience in insurance or reinsurance will be considered an advantage
  • Understanding of reinsurance concepts and current best practices will be considered an advantage

 

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of (re)insurance, derivatives, and investment (requisite)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, credit analysis, statistics/quantitative analysis (requisite)
  • General knowledge of industry products, operations and regulations (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills in English (both verbal and written) (requisite)
  • Influence and leadership skills to work with multiple local and global functions including Investments, Finance and Legal
  • Strategic thinking and ability to balance detailed and big picture issues
  • Excel, Word, Power Point (requisite)

 

Preferable:

  • People management skills

 

Qualifications:

  • CMA/CFA (preferred)
  •  

 

Language:

  • Japanese: Native or Fluent (verbal and written)
  • English: Native or Fluent (verbal and written)
