MetLife is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps / MLOps Engineer to join our Data & Analytics US Data Platforms organization. This role is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps and MLOps practices within MetLife's cloud environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, cloud platform, and data science teams to implement scalable and secure software delivery and machine learning deployment solutions. The role will contribute to platform engineering initiatives, automation efforts, and operational improvements while adhering to established enterprise cloud standards and governance requirements.
Solution Delivery & Engineering
- Design, build, and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Bicep, ARM, and Terraform.
- Implement and support Azure Machine Learning deployment pipelines and lifecycle processes.
- Partner with platform engineering teams to enhance cloud-based development and deployment capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of reusable automation components, deployment templates, and engineering standards.
- Support integration of DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and security controls.
- Implement monitoring and observability capabilities using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, deployment, and automation issues.
- Support deployment and operational activities for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and related cloud-native technologies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to delivery planning and execution.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Support incident management and operational response processes.
- Contribute to automation of operational tasks, runbooks, and support documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in efforts to improve platform performance, monitoring, and cost management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering best practices and process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting DevOps, cloud engineering, or MLOps implementations.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Experience supporting cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on cross-functional technology projects and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Factory.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps controls and automation.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting cloud transformation or platform modernization initiatives.
The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
