The Opportunity
This position, Derivatives Senior Derivatives Analyst, will join the settlements team in the Derivatives Middle Office. The team owns derivative settlements platform and handles derivative and collateral cash security settlements. The individual will have a high level of derivatives expertise and will work with external and internal stakeholders in a team environment to support MetLife’s derivative businesses as well as contribute to and lead company initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end derivative and collateral settlements including confirming amounts with counterparties, research discrepancies, entering settlement instructions in collateral and derivative systems, and initiating wires in the treasury system.
- Understands portfolio structures and some experience in handling large number of bank accounts.
- Knowledge of derivative & collateral products to investigate cash and security settlement breaks.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders – custodians, counterparties and vendors.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams which include trading, valuations, back office IT operations finance, legal for project and trouble-shoot day to day settlement discrepancies.
- Good Knowledge of Excel/VBA to work on month and quarter end reports.
- Work with Derivatives IT teams on enhancing existing & new business initiative projects within Derivative Middle Office Settlements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years relevant experience.
- B.S. Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or other related field of expertise
- Good problem-solving, control, project, and collaborative skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Adherence to high standards of business ethics, conduct, and behavior
- Knowledge of CALYPSO, Murex, or similar treasury systems (Kyriba)
Preferred Qualifications
- Treasury experience is desirable.
