The Opportunity

The Project Leader, Disability Migrations is responsible for leading the successful conversion of customer disability and leave management programs from legacy platforms to MetLife's cloud-based claims and administration systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering seamless customer migrations, ensuring operational readiness, and driving cross-functional coordination across the Group Benefits organization.

The successful candidate will lead complex migration efforts, influence key stakeholders, and help shape solutions that enhance the customer experience while supporting MetLife's commitment to best-in-class disability and leave management services.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead customer migration initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring successful and efficient transitions to MetLife's cloud-based claims platform.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reporting for multiple concurrent disability migration projects.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams, including testers, developers, operational readiness resources, and business partners, to support migration and integration activities.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate activities across operations, account teams, product owners, vendors, and business leaders to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project milestones, dependencies, testing activities, and operational readiness efforts while proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact successful delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of project leadership experience managing multiple concurrent projects and driving successful delivery of complex business initiatives.
  • 7+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office tools to develop project plans, manage schedules, and communicate project status.
  • Experience supporting operational processes and customer implementations, including coordinating stakeholders, managing dependencies, and driving successful project execution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and research capabilities, with the ability to balance structured project management practices and pragmatic execution to achieve business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • SAFe Scrum Lead certification or experience supporting Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience within the insurance industry.
  • Experience implementing or migrating Group Benefits customers, including disability and leave management solutions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational readiness activities in large-scale transformation or migration programs.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $76,000 - $115,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
