The Opportunity 

As a MetLife Regional Market Account Executive you will be responsible for the sales and maintain a book of business for customers with 2 to 5,000 employees. You will have the opportunity to distribute MetLife’s Group Benefits portfolio which includes life, dental, disability, vision, group legal, accident & health, whole life and more.  The MetLife Regional Market Account Executive is responsible for the top and bottom-line performance of their books of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell Group Benefits products and services through brokers up to 4,999 life group benefits market. 
  • Grow the book of business through proactive product sales, upsells, and renewals, within assigned territory. Maintain ongoing relationships with existing customers and brokers.  Partner with key internal resources (Client Service team) to identify opportunities to grow existing relationships.
  • Develop a strategic sales approach to attain new clients based on buying influences, risk factors and business objectives.
  • Participate in strategic account planning processes to build lasting reciprocal relationships with new clients through open communications around mutual objectives.
  • Provide financial consulting support to the client organization, informing key financial decisions.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):   

  • 2-4 years previous experience successfully selling/servicing related products. 
  • Ability to attain appropriate licensing as required including Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses or obtain within six months of hire
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Highly skilled at listening to prospect needs and translating into workable solutions
  • Ability to probe for additional details and to identify root cause or unstated needs
  • Strong financial acumen around product earnings

Preferred: 

  • Highly adaptable and capable of working in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment.
The expected salary range for this position is $50,000. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation under the sales plan for the position. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
