The Global Procurement Capabilities team is a part of the Global Procurement organization and includes the Source to Pay Governance and Accounts Payable functions. The Source to Pay Governance team has responsibility for governing & optimizing the source to pay process through process design, process excellence, governance & controls and supplier enablement. The Source to Pay Governance team is on an exciting transformation journey, and is a critical enabler of overall procurement transformation, aiming for improved stakeholder experience, streamlined processes and enhanced technologies.
The Opportunity
- The Consultant, Source to Pay Governance will be a member of the Source to Pay Governance team. As a part of this function the Consultant will have responsibility for supporting activities across process design, process excellence, governance & controls and supplier enablement.

- The Consultant’s primary goal is to design, develop and govern the Source to Pay process in accordance with MetLife’s procurement policies while also leveraging market intelligence to identify external best practices that should be considered
- The Consultant will also play a role in advancing MetLife’s supplier diversity & sustainability efforts including the development of a Preferred Supplier Program
- The goal is to leverage the Consultant’s skillset and experiences to develop source to pay processes that are contemporary, compliant, efficient and user-friendly
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Process Design – Support design, development, implementation, optimization and maintenance of source to pay process maps aligned to MetLife’s Third Party Lifecyle process. Drive adherence to Global Procurement’s buy channel management strategy.
- Process Excellence – Consume operational data including cycle times to proactively identify opportunities for improvement across the Source to Pay process. Optimize procurement systems design through a focus on stakeholder experience and effective enablement of Procurement Partnering function.
- Governance & Controls – Support the development, maintenance and adherence of Global Procurement policies and serve as a control function for managing changes associated with the policy or the source to pay process.
- Supplier Enablement – Partner with Procurement Partnering. Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability to advance supplier diversity & sustainability initiatives across the supplier ecosystem. Support the development of a Preferred Supplier Program focused on supplier consolidation, value creation, enhanced supplier & risk management and supplier innovation.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations or a related field (or equivalent professional experience in related fields)
- 4+ years of experience in procurement operations or indirect procurement or supply chain management, with experience in category management and sourcing
- Familiarity with the end-to-end source to pay process
- Experience being a member of a globally distributed, large-scale procurement teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills; adept at using Excel and leading business intelligence tools such as Microsoft PowerBI
- Proficient communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency with procurement technology that supports intake & orchestration, requisition to PO, supplier risk assessment, contracts management and accounts payable.
