The Team You Will Join 

The role will sit in the Product Department supporting MetLife Lebanon and Jordan’s Employees Benefits and Retail (unit-linked, life, and accident & health) business. This position involves supporting and leading various tasks and initiatives depending on business need to contribute to the growth and profitability of the company. The tasks can range from product development and pricing, financial analysis, data analytics and management reporting.

The successful candidate must have the ability to think strategically and design innovative solutions in a dynamic environment. Experience in product and pricing role is essential. The candidate must be on actuarial student track and is committed to obtaining the actuarial qualification.

The Opportunity 

Technical Responsibilities

v  Lead / Support on product development initiatives over all lines of business. This includes but is not limited to:

§  Performing pricing and profitability analysis and ensuring all criteria are met.

§  Preparation of the Business Case and the Technical Note.

§  Supporting the implementation (reviewing terms and conditions, user testing illustrations, and other related tasks).

§  Lead on the regulatory filing and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders.

v  Continuous monitoring of portfolio profitability.

v  Support in management reporting.

v  Lead / Support on various technical studies such as the expense study and persistency analysis.

v  Support management with ad-hoc tasks as necessary.

Strategy & Planning Responsibilities

v  Monitoring competition and gathering market information.

v  Proactively identify and report potential risks and opportunities.

v  Develop long-term strategies for major risks.

v  Partner with distribution and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.

Candidate qualifications

v  8+ years of experience in relevant work. Experience in employee benefits, life, unit-linked, and accident & health is a plus.

v  Degree in actuarial sciences; actuarial exams or qualification are a plus.

v  Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.

v  Strong understanding of the cashflows and P&L of a life insurance company.

v  Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

v  Strong communication skills (written and oral).

v High proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in Alteryx is a plus.
