Officer, Actuarial Analyst
Job Description
The role is responsible for performing actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, calculations and regulatory reporting, along while collaborating closely with actuarial and finance teams at both country and regional levels.
Main Responsibilities
- Performs actuarial tasks pertaining to product pricing, development, valuations, and modeling, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Prepare various actuarial reports, including statutory reports, Value of New Business (VNB), as well as mortality and expense studies. Clearly communicate these findings to stakeholders by presenting complex information in an accessible manner.
- Support the implementation of NFRS 17 project, risk-based capital reporting and ORSA implementation.
- Construct and maintain actuarial models, perform Cash Flow Testing (CFT) projections, conduct liquidity assessments, and evaluate financial risks.
- Develop expertise in actuarial software such as Prophet, leveraging these tools to generate required deliverables.
- Provide comprehensive support to the Finance department, focusing on process improvement initiatives, reinsurance activities, and other pertinent areas.
- Delegate and execute responsibilities with a commitment to quality, timeliness, and clear communication.
Job Specification
- At least 3 years of actuarial related experience in the Insurance industry.
- Knowledge of Insurance laws, rules and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suites /VBA.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English & Nepali.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer, MetLife Nepal.
Compensation: As per company rule.
Educational Description: Qualified Actuary/minimum six papers in actuarial studies/Bachelor or above in Actuarial Science.
