We are seeking individuals who exemplify strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make strategic decisions. Ideal candidates will possess excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Furthermore, applicants should demonstrate robust problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing risk within company guidelines. Excellent Data and Excel capabilities are a must, being able to use commands like PivotTable to analyse data will be essential.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

• Responsible for underwriting Group Life and/or Group Income Protection quotations for renewals and new business in a timely manner within agreed internal procedures to achieve service standards and exceed our annual sales target.
• To support key strategic relationships within Sales, Actuarial and other business departments by making pragmatic and commercially focused underwriting decisions to help achieve sales, profitability, and retention targets.
• Represent the Underwriting department by supporting key Client Relationship meetings along with Sales Business Development Managers & Operations
• To provide technical underwriting support to the Sales team, where appropriate.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties as reasonable assigned by the Manager from time to time.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

• Educated to degree level, in Mathematics or a similar/relevant subject.
• Able to handle the demands of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage own work and deadlines, communicating coherently across functions if required.
• A desire to proactively learn and develop yourself.
• Ability to challenge existing ways of working for the best outcome for the company and customer.
• Able and willing to work in the Brighton head office on a hybrid basis
