Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work under general supervision.
  • Help plan and set up IT systems, including forecasting resources and designing architecture.
  • Manage job scheduling and system patch updates.
  • Assist in creating and updating technical diagrams and system layouts.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues (Tier 3 support) and work with vendors when needed.
  • Contribute to writing and maintaining technical standards and documentation.
  • Implement network, system, and security solutions.
  • Maintain and manage hardware and software infrastructure using engineering tools.
  • Collaborate with project teams, customers, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support capacity planning to meet business and customer needs.
  • Understand IT Service Management processes like change and incident management.
  • Create and manage tickets in the IT Service Management system.
  • Assist with disaster recovery activities when required.

 

Key Competencies:

 

  • Experience: At least 2 years working with IT infrastructure—network design, installation, and maintenance of systems, storage, and operating environments.
  • Technical Know-How: Solid understanding of network hardware/software, system architecture, and common protocols.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to document solutions clearly.
  • Team Player: Great communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

 

 

Technical Skills

  1. Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking.
  2. Familiar with IT standards, policies, and service management processes.
  3. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, system software, and hardware installation.
  4. Knowledge of virtualization, storage management, and network security.
  5. Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.
