Our company is currently undergoing a significant transformation across the EMEA region. We operate six regional data centers that play a key role in supporting our test environments. Historically, each region has managed its own processes and infrastructure independently. However, we are now moving toward a more unified, global operating model. The goal of this transformation is to strengthen our internal knowledge base and improve collaboration between regional and global teams. By consolidating expertise and standardizing our practices, we aim to increase efficiency and reduce duplication of effort. This shift will also allow us to provide more consistent and scalable support worldwide. This transformation also focuses on improving collaboration with our internal business partners and responding more effectively to their needs.

The EMEA Infrastructure Team serves as the operational backbone of our organization, specializing in IT operations and infrastructure management to deliver high-availability environments for critical company applications.

The Opportunity
The EMEA Infrastructure Team manages IT operations and infrastructure to ensure reliable environments for essential company applications.
The team sits within MetLife's global technology organization, serving as a key partner to both business and IT stakeholders. Focused on driving cloud adoption and digital transformation, this group is instrumental in shaping the infrastructure and automation strategies that support our growth. By leveraging innovative solutions and best practices, the team ensures MetLife's operations remain secure, scalable, and agile across the EMEA region.

This role requires proficiency in DevOps practices and automation. The cloud engineer manages Azure-hosted infrastructure and supports the organisation in utilising these resources. Collaboration with application development teams is expected, in an environment where input from all members is considered.
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Participate in the implementation of automation and DevSecOps practices.
- Design and maintain pipelines to automate the provisioning and monitoring of infrastructure.
- Develop blueprints to standardize automation and deployment processes across the EMEA region.
- Work with InfoSec, AppDev, and engineering teams to support DevSecOps initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Previous experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container technologies such as Docker
- More than two years of experience working with Microsoft Azure services or comparable cloud platforms
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, agile methodologies, and standard practices
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application provisioning
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in infrastructure as code roles
- Proficiency with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural and geographically dispersed team
- Understanding of container security, vulnerability assessment, and compliance frameworks
