The Team You Will Join 

 

The EMEA Middle Office Operations candidate will join a growing investment business in the region and become part of the operations team that supports all areas of the business across both London and the region. 

 

The Opportunity 

The EMEA Middle Office Operations role will be based in London and will involve contributing to day-to-day, monthly, and annual activities, as well as supporting a range of projects—small, medium, and large—at both regional and global levels. Candidates for the EMEA Middle Office Operations position must possess a broad knowledge of and understanding of trading operations, investment instruments, management reporting and related data needs.  The ideal EMEA Middle Office Operations candidate will be a strategic thinker who will participate in project initiatives.


How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Perform daily data integrity checks & maintain security-level reference data.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and correcting information quality problems reported by end users, identified through the daily data integrity monitors, or via centralized reconciliations.
  • Work with the centralized reconciliation teams to resolve reconciliation breaks occurring in portfolios managed within the region.
  • Regularly report relevant metrics for measuring quality, effectiveness, and consistency for processes under purview.
  • Trade support functions such as trade confirmations & settlement notifications, corporate action processing and operational cash entries, Knowledge of Bank Loans is advantageous
  • Support regional implementation efforts of processing- and data-management platforms and associated governance programs. 
  • Perform testing and provide analysis of results that lead to the execution of requirements.
  • Create and update documentation that is to be used as part of Regional Operations Support.   
  • Work with team members across the organization to understand, identify and address issues or opportunities that lead to effective support processes and improvements in quality of services.
  • Be capable of building business cases for change and submitting ideas and being able to work with Regional Manager to obtain global stakeholder buy in and implement suggestions
  • Knowledge of Asset Pricing and having the ability to investigate and challenge vendor prices and being able to understand local pricing requirements


What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • Ability to work independently and within a small team.
  • Strong understanding of investment operations support (gained from having previously worked in Invest ops or equivalent), reporting, data integrity and fixed income and equity securities analytics.
  • Relevant experience in Financial Services industry, Capital Markets and Investment Products (Fixed Income, Equity, Private Placement and Syndicated loans).
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Leadership skills are a must to support the Head of Regional Office
  • Strong investigation and problem-solving skills
  • Hybrid working arrangement – 3 days in the London office (full time 5 day a week role)


What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Experience with Aladdin or equivalent Order Management System (OMS), Markit EDM, Bloomberg and other data vendors or other Investment platforms is a plus
  • Business Administration or BS in Accounting, Finance, or IT related field.
