In this blog post, Lilian Castellanos, MyPath Talent Partner at MetLife, shares how MyPath has supported employee growth, including her own career development.   



Launched in 2021, MyPath gave me a profound sense of purpose and boosted my morale, productivity, and ability to influence MetLife’s talent strategy. Over the past three years, I’ve had the honor of shaping the program's development, which has transformed my own approach to work and has supported my colleagues' career growth. I am passionate about how MetLife is fostering a thriving, collaborative community that promotes growth and opportunity for all. 

What is MyPath?

MyPath is a platform that empowers our associates to explore diverse internal opportunities across the enterprise. By breaking down traditional silos, we enable employees to use their unique skills and experiences via project participation and networking with colleagues in different departments. This fosters a culture of connectivity, innovation, and continuous improvement. So far, 70%+ of MetLife employees have explored MyPath, resulting in over 12,000 project assignments, unlocking over 550,000 capacity hours, and making more than 6,800 networking connections.  

Building a successful talent marketplace at MetLife has been a journey of collaboration, experimentation, and dedication. Over the past few years, our team has worked to foster partnerships and create a robust framework that supports our associates in pursuing their career aspirations. This initiative has not only enhanced our talent mobility strategy and fueled employee growth but also strengthened our organizational agility, enabling us to adapt swiftly to changing business needs.  

Fueling Employee Growth 

The transformative impact of this innovative program, on both employees and the entire organization, highlights its value and effectiveness. MetLife employees are now seizing the chance to dive into cross-enterprise initiatives, immersing themselves in various functions, teams, and cultures. This enriching experience not only broadens their horizons but also significantly enhances their skill sets. By fostering such a comprehensive approach to career development, we are not only empowering individuals but also driving the overall success of MetLife. 

This initiative’s success has not gone unnoticed. In August 2025, MyPath was honored with the Silver Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award for Best Unique or Innovative Talent Acquisition Program, recognizing its impact on workforce development.
