This position will be responsible for GAAP and Statutory financial reporting and analysis in the Retirement Income Solutions (RIS) segment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for overseeing accounting and reporting of Pension Risk Transfer, other US Pension products and UK Longevity products (UKL). 
  • Reporting of GAAP and Statutory monthly/quarterly financial results, including income statements, balance sheets and earnings by source in a timely and accurate manner to support RIS Controllers and Corporate financial reporting requirements. 
  • Analysis of financial results including comparisons to prior periods and projections, Provide data and analysis to Product management to support projections, business plan, and actuals.
  • Manage all deliverables pertaining to the RIS US GAAP, US STAT and MTL entity reporting process which includes but not limited to the 10Q/10K reporting and disclosures, the STAT CFO presentation reflecting TAC, YOY QTD and YTD earnings walk and GAAP to STAT EBS. Also, includes reviewing RIS line by line Entity and Consolidated MTL analytics and preparation of materials for the MTL Pre-flip and Board DECK presentation. 
  • Work closely with other units including CFO, Valuations, Operations and STAT reporting to support financial analysis and reporting efficiencies. 
  • Work on metrics to support analytics and other projects as assigned.
  • Supervise a staff of one.

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 7 + years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or an applicable field of expertise
  • General Ledger functional knowledge and proficiency 
  • Strong Knowledge of Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Ability to work independently on projects from start to finish with a sense of urgency behind all tasks.    
  • Strong Excel skills with Pivots and Vlookups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Understanding of Reinsurance 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or an applicable field of expertise
  • CPA/MBA or working towards it, is a plus.
  • Proficient in US GAAP and STAT
  • Insurance industry experience is preferred. 
  • Reinsurance and separate account knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to analyze facts and develop logical conclusions. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (Excel and Word) 
  • Effective time management and prioritization 
  • Ability to work within tight time constraints and multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Ability to work independently on projects from start to finish with a sense of urgency behind all tasks.
