Description and Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

Customer:

  • Lead all actuarial functions in the Metrics CoE for Chile/Uruguay, including Value of New Business, Experience Studies, Insurance Risk Economic Capital and Cash flow projections for ALM purposes
  • Support of management requests in support of the business 


Technical:

  • Accountable for all actuarial deliverables for Value of New business, Experience studies, Insurance Risk Economic Capital and Cash flow projections for ALM purposes, including explanation of variations QoQ, YoY, Actual vs Plan, among others
  • Challenge that models work as expected and propose changes, if necessary
  • Ensure controls meet enterprise standards

 

Management:

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operation of CoE metrics actuarial functions for Chile/Uruguay
  • Provides technical direction, identifies competency gaps and collaborates to close gaps
  • Recruits and retains the right staff to develop a high-quality team applying diverse solutions to changing requirements
  • Collaborates with others to create development opportunities aligned with future career aspirations and organizational goals
  • Responsible for the performance evaluation process for the actuarial function

 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • Actuary designation (highest possible designation in the country of origin)
  • 5+ years of Life Insurance actuarial experience, preferably on EEV, EC and ALM
  • Knowledge of actuarial software program preferably Prophet, Alteryx, Phyton, R, SQL, VBA and/or Power BI
  • Fluent Spanish and English (written / speaking)
  • Result oriented team leader driving associate engagement
  • Automation, efficiency and continuous improvement mindset
  • Negotiation, coordination and planification skills
  • High Analytical skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environment
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills to analyze, interpret and address customer needs
