Role Value Proposition:

API Engineering Team is a cross-functional team responsible for building APIs capabilities to integrate with external partners such as Benefits Administration and HCM Platforms.

 

Senior Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing APIs solutions based on standards and processes that establish consistency across the enterprise, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies. We are looking for someone with hands-on development of microservices and cloud-native applications. As an agile team member, you will collaborate closely with the Scrum Lead, Product Owner, and ART Leadership to ensure your work is meaningful and aligns with business goals and objectives. You will have an opportunity to impact every part of the system, foster and cultivate your curiosity, and iterate over solutions to be the best you can be to deliver for our customers. The role is expected to have extensive experience in software development and related middleware and infrastructure considerations, stay abreast of leading-edge technologies, such as Generative AI and Cloud native application design and implementation, and will be a critical team member within an Agile Release Train.  

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection and documentation of user requirements Analyzing, designing, and driving solutions for major components and features.
  • Ensuring secure, high code quality across the entire team(s).
  • Investigating and resolving production management incidents, problems, and service requests
  • Interfacing with key stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Working with cross-functional teams for delivery.
  • Perform design and code reviews ensuring compliance with best practices and acceptable performance.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Hands-on development experience with JAVA, Typescript / JavaScript, and the following frameworks/technologies: Spring, Springboot, ReactJS, NodeJS, and AWS/ Azure.
  • Hands-on development of microservices and applications from the ground up
  • Hands-on code management, code branching, CI/CD.
  • Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server preferred) and NoSQL (CosmosDB preferred).
  • Container-based development leveraging Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or more advanced degree in Computer Science / Engineering/ Mathematics/ Physics or related field.
  • Experience with integration tools such as Kafka, and/or MQ, Azure function apps/logic apps, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Services: Functions, AKS, ASE, CosmosDB.
  • Experience with MACH architecture (Microservices, API, Cloud, Headless) and cloud-first infrastructure.
  • Experience with Veracode and security best practices.
  • WebSphere Application Server experience is a plus.
  • Experience with tools such as helmcharts, ansible, and Terraform is a big plus.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $110,000 - $135,000.
