Role Value Proposition

Responsible for the project management of the transition of Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) Closeouts and Conversion contracts.  Acting as the primary point of contact between internal business partners and Plan Sponsors/Third Party Administrators (TPAs), Intermediaries/Independent Fiduciary, and others.  Ensuring that the contract’s implementation meets deadlines while providing education and client satisfaction.  Understanding the market environment and client situation to develop solutions to best meet their needs and contribute to the growth in the Pension Closeout business.   Leading and driving the organization towards becoming the premier insurer in the PRT jumbo space.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the project manager for the implementation of our largest PRT Closeouts and Conversions with a focus on the Jumbo (+1B) market
    1. Facilitate informational meetings throughout the implementation timeline to keeping all parties on target for established project deadlines
    2. Leverage existing project management tools to ensure all internal and external parties are aware of upcoming deadlines and escalate when necessary
    3. Demonstrate knowledge of product, operations, and market environment and applies this knowledge to all aspects of the implementation, but not limited to, contract development, annuitant communications, operational procedures, and risk/audit
  • Ensure the client satisfaction of both the Plan Sponsor/Independent Fiduciary and Intermediary are met throughout the implementation process 
    1. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and ensuring we meet or exceed their expectations
    2. Anticipate, assess and manage any potential pitfalls or issues and make recommendations based on industry and MetLife service models
    3. Match the Plan Sponsor’s pace and communication style both in written communication and during all informational meetings
  • Provide post-implementation support to internal business partners and assist in the transition from Implementations to Operations/Contact Center  
  • Support organization with process improvement and other key business initiatives        
  • Act as an informal leader within team and department
  • Collaborate and act as a liaison and key point of contact for Implementation team


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills 

Required:

  • Experience working with senior leadership at large to jumbo market clients
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    1. Produces written materials in business and industry specific technical language

    3. Ability to interpret and translate contracts
    4. Speaks well without preparation
    5. Structures content of presentation from a listeners point of reference
    6. Presents a professional appearance on camera
  • Demonstrated proficiency with advanced features, facilities, and functions of Office Support Tools: Email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously:
    • Anticipates changes in demands and priorities and proactively addresses
    • Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities
    • Works with or leads others to re-prioritize work and reschedule commitments as necessary
  • Interpersonal relationship skills
    • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships within and outside of own area
    • Implements tactics to de-escalate problem situations immediately
    • Develops and uses personal credibility, resources, and reciprocity to effectively influence others

Preferred:

  • 6 years related experience
  • Project Management designation (PMP, CAPM) 
  • Pension Risk Transfer or Defined Benefit experience 
  • 4-year college degree

The salary range for applicants for this position is 81,500 to 137,400.
