The Team

The position sits within the newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting MetLife's U.S. Business. U.S. D&A assists all business lines of MetLife’s U.S. business (about 2/3 of MetLife Global by earnings) with everything related to data, analytics, and data science, from data infrastructure, data governance, data engineering, data modeling, and data analysis to business intelligence, data science, and AI. 

 

The Role:
The Senior Business Planning & Strategy Consultant III provides executive support for high-level Chief Data Officer initiatives, collaborate with the Head of Operations to enhance current processes and streamline organizational procedures, and contribute to the development of new operational strategies with CDO and pillar leaders. This role will assist in overall program support over many agile trains including staffing, coordination, budgeting, coordination with stakeholders, and syncing with other departments. This role provides an opportunity to interact and communicate with US D&A leaders and employees, key stakeholders across US D&A, Global Technology and US Business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps translate CDO vision into a department-wide vision and strategy, with service level and business objectives as goals. 
  • Support change management efforts tied to strategy rollouts and org shifts.
  • Build high-quality presentation materials and dashboards for Chief Data Officer and senior leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with ability to communicate complex technical messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story.
  • Uses strong business judgment to work autonomously on stakeholder requests across US D&A pillars. 
  • Assist in overall program management for agile trains and teams.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders in advance of meetings to set agendas and clarify/align objectives including internal staff meetings (e.g., Town Halls, Senior Leadership Team, extended leadership meetings). 
  • Prepares agenda and reports for senior-level management and operational review meetings. 
  • Develop and implement strategic programs to support a variety of organizational priorities including but not limited to financial management, operational stability, vendor management, employee engagement, and generally enabling the business. 
  • Influences and builds collaborative partnerships and alliances to achieve shared goals. 
  • Executive Support for High-Level Chief Data Officer Initiatives: Provide executive support to assist the Chief Data Officer in strategic business initiatives and drive initiatives across U.S. D&A in a collaborative effort. 
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with the Head of Operations to enhance current processes and streamline organizational procedures, aiming to improve efficiency, productivity, and alignment within U.S. Data & Analytics.
  • Program Management / Cross-Team Initiatives Support / Pillar Support: Build relationships within U.S. Data & Analytics and contribute to the development of new operational strategies with CDO and pillar leaders. Work closely with the Head of Operations on special projects.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Versatile skill set in areas such as stakeholder management, communications, and organizational change management.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and communications using MS PowerPoint and Word as appropriate for key stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of IT experience coordinating and/or managing application development, vendor management, infrastructure engineering, or operations projects.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems.  
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and planning practices (e.g., PI planning, Kanban).
  • Strong business acumen and maturity with broad exposure to business units.
  • Self-directed/Driven and highly self-motivated.
  • Expert knowledge of business operations, planning, budgeting, re-engineering, and performance measures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong quantitative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask between several projects.

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience/certification in ITIL, Agile, Lean, and/or PMP methodologies.
  • SAFe/Agile Certification.

 

Location

This position can be based at our Cary, NC office. Currently, we are on a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.


The salary range for applicants for this position is $109,800 to $146,400.
